A new place to live for the Leathers up in the Hayward Hills.
![]() The windows from the Sims don't hold a candle to our real windows here. Lots of windows was right under QUIET at the top of the list of qualifications for our new place. We've lived like moles for nearly 7 years, so this is a major improvement. |
![]() A kitchen that was big enough for Sammie to cook in was also on that list. That last place was so tiny she could barely move in the kitchen. I just never thought we'd get one big enough for her to use even if there is a wheelchair needed for her to move around. |
![]() Our living room's front window is actually a big old fashioned plate glass window with mostly giant pine trees that tower over us as a view and just beyond them is a two story retirement villa that has the look of a tidy modern spanish villa with the black wrought iron balconies. They have this kind of windows with the rounded tops that match the doorways. |
![]() These windows actually take up half of two of the walls in our livingroom, but there is one plate glass window and a slider window that opens up to such a view I had to add an image of the real thing. |
![]() Even the bedroom is nearly wall to wall windows. I'd like to take a moment here to thank God for the demon's spawn who invented vertical blinds. |
![]() The bathroom is small but adequate. Our tub/shower actually has a clear glass shower door. Allow me to Homer up for just a moment and say "Woo Whoo!" |
![]() Behind the bathroom and just off the Kitchen is a room I completely forgot to add to the wish list. A laundry room where we could use our washer and dryer. Don't you just love it when there's a prize in the box? |
![]() Oh and let us not overlook the walk-in-closet. |
![]() So now it's time to start living happily ever after. Right? |
![]() It's a Duplex apartment. |
![]() Our neighbor's side of the duplex is a two bedroom place with a young woman and her 2 children who live with the woman's parents. The American flag in their window makes me worry for the father of the children. |
![]() Please forgive the short cuts, but we are still up to our eyebrows in boxes. There's a second duplex the same size between our building and the street. and a bus stops right at the end of our drive way. |
![]() This is looking to be the best christmas ever. |
![]() These are some of our new neighbors! |
